Hustle In The Heat.
In the great heat of last Sunday, when the thermometer registered 86 degrees in the shade, a gang of platelayers worked feverishly on the L.N.E. Railway at Wath Staithes to repair the crossing and renew a section of the goods line.
Work was begun at three o’clock in the morning, and all was finished at five in the afternoon.
