Conisbrough Bride Chooses Crinoline Style Gown

The wedding took place at St. Peter’s Church, Conisbrough, on Saturday of Miss Lilian Oakley, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Oakley, of 5, Halifax Avenue, Conanby, to Mr. Bernard Bray, eldest son of Mrs. Mace and the late Mr. A. Bray, of 28, Newfield Crescent, Newhill, Wath.

The Rev. G. F. Braithwaite, Vicar, officiated.

The bride, given away by her father, wore a gown of satin over rule and taffeta, in crinoline style, trimmed with orange blossom, with veil and wreath of orange blossom, and carried pink and white carnations. The wedding gown was designed and made by the bride.

The two bridesmaids, Miss Pauline Oakley, and Miss Freda Bray, wore pink satin dresses, and carried peas and fern. Best man was Mr. Harold Norton, and the groomsmen, Mr. Jock Bray and Mr, Stewart Ward.

A reception was held in the Welfare Pavilion, Conisbrough. The bride-groom’s mother wore grey, and the bride’s mother was in powder blue.
