Derrick Frost (19) of 14, Winfred Street, Wath, was one of two airmen killed when the motor cycle they were riding came into collision with a stationary lorry at Woodstock, near Kidlington, Oxfordshire, on Friday. The lorry had previously been in collision with a motor cycle combination.

Aircraftsman Frost and his friend, Terry Atherton of Woodstock, were covered with blazing petrol after their machine had burst into flames. Mr. Frost, who was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Frost, was stationed at Kidlington and had been in the R.A.F. for about a year. He joined the Force for three years and previously worked at Wath marshalling yards

He was a member of Manvers Main boys’ club, and while a pupil at Park Road, Wath, was boxing champion. His father is a miner.
