Alarming Accident at Wath Main Colliery.
Early yesterday morning as the miners were being lowered to their work the cage was by accident allowed to fall with great force upon the covering of the sump at the bottom of the shaft, severely shaking the eight occupants of the cage, but fortunately doing no serious injury.
Four of the men had to be conveyed to their homes, where they were attended Dr. Jones, the company’s medical officer.
