Wedding – Reynolds & Haigh

Mr. G.B. Haigh (Wath) and Miss M. M. Reynolds (West Melton).

The wedding took place at Wath Parish Church on Monday of Muriel Martha Reynolds, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Reynolds, of West Melton, and Mr George Beaumont Haigh, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Haigh, of Wath. The bride, given away by her father, was attired in a picture dress of georgette and lace with coronet of orange blossom, surmounted by an embroidered veil. She carried cream roses.

She was attended by Misses Gladys Wilson, Hilda Senior, Mary Oxley and Eileen Clarke wearing gowns of apple green velvet with hats and muffs to match. They also wore gold and silver crosses, gifts from the bridegroom. The bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by Miss Rosemary Bouch.

Best man was Mr. F. Maude, and the groomsmen Mr. D. Haigh and Mr. W. Bottomley.

The bridegroom before the war was woodwork master on the staff of Castleford Boys’ Modern School, but was transferred to employment on war production two years ago. The bride is well- known in the district as a teacher of music, being an Associate of the London College of Music. Both have taken an active part in church work, the bridegroom being chorister, server and cross bearer. The honeymoon is being spent at Knaresborough
