The wedding took place at Wath Parish Church of Miss Joyce May Penton, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Penton, of 8, Charles Road, Wath, to Pte. Ronald King, Queen’s Own Royal West Kent, third son of Chief Petty Officer King R.N. and Mrs. King of Grafton Avenue, Rochester, Kent.
The bride, who wore the uniform please of the W.R.N.S., was given away by her father, and attended by Miss Vera Maddison, who wore a navy costume, with maroon accessories.
The best man was Sergt. Leslie King (Royal Marines), and Mr. G. Penton was groomsman. The bride was presented with a horseshoe by her sister, Pauline Panton.
