Musical Successes.

Twelve year old Margaret Hayes, only daughter of Mrs. Lucy Hayes and the late Mr. G. Hayes, Crowley Drive, Wath, has obtained another vocal success by winning Class 11 in the Doncaster and Barnsley Youth Musical Festival.

She won junior vocal the solo challenge cup and a plaque and the junior musical festival trophy and a first-class certificate with honours at the 1952 Barnsley British Co-op Festival and a first-class certificate at the 1952 Wombwell Festival.

In 1951 she gained a first-class certificate at Wombwell and a second-class certificate at Pontefract. Margaret, who holds two certificates from the Royal Schools of Music for Grades IV and V, is a pupil at Wath Modern School and a Sunday school scholar at Gorehill Methodist Church.
