Wedding – Scott & Swinburne
On Saturday at the Mexborough Parish Church, the Rev. L. E. Meredith (vicar of Wath) officiating, Miss Marjorie Annie Scott, only daughter of Mr. William Scott and the late Mrs. Scott, Ivy House Farm, Old Denaby, was married to Mr. George Frederick Swinburne, only son of the late Mr. C. Swinburne, and Mrs. Swinburne, Wharncliffe Crescent, Wath-on-Dearne.
Bride and bridegroom are well-known in local lawn tennis circles, and have been prominently associated for some years with the Mexborough and Wath clubs respectively.
The bride, who wore Princess Mary blue georgette and lace over crepe de Chine with lace cape, and blue hat and shoes to tone, was given away by her brother, Mr. Cyril W. Scott and was attended by Miss Phyllis Dora Phipps, of Old Denaby’ who wore pale green lace over georgette with georgette cape, and green hat and shoes to match. The bride’s bouquet was of pink carnations, and the bridesmaid’s of bronze chrysanthemums.
The honeymoon is being spent in London.
