Passes On The “Times”

Sergt. W. B. Stacey, R.A.F., adopted son of Mr. Joe Stacey, of 10, The Green, West Melton, is serving with a repair and salvage unit in the Middle East, and was attached to the Eighth Army in the recent Middle East Campaign.

He Joined the Forces in June, 1939, and served with the B.E.F. in France for nine months. He was previously employed at Wath Main Colliery, and is an old pupil of Brampton Bierlow Ellis Senior School. In a letter to the “South Yorkshire Times,””

Sergt. Stacey says, “I look forward to receiving your paper very much out here. It is sent to me through my relations, and afterwards I pass it on to a pal, Fred Hargreaves, of Wath, who is serving in the same unit.”

Sergt. Stacey, who assures us that he is in the best of health, is also grateful to the local comfort’s funds for gifts. He is married and has a young son.
