Wath started with determination, some splendid rugby resulting in woodhouse and barton scoring tries, Ratcliffe converting one. Unfortunately Wath got over confident and stand off Russell was caught in possession from which Beverely scored a converted try to make it 8-5 to Wath at half-time. It took Wath 20 minutes to regain their determination and rhythm, but when it came they swamped their visitors. Barton. Smith (p.) and  Lawrence scored tries. Russell dropped a goal with Ratcliffe adding two conversions and a penalty. Barton had an outstanding game at centre as did grannan playing his last game for Wath
