Illegally Moving Cattle
Albert Mossley was summoned for having moved six heifers at Wath within an area infected by foot-and-mouth disease on the 25th ult.
Police-constable Pearson stated that he met the defendant in Wath-road, Swinton, with six heifers. He asked him for his licence, but he could not produce one.
Defendant, a lad of about 16, stated that he was removing the animals by order of his employer, Mr. Waterhouse, of Braithwell Manor.
The Chairman was of opinion that the employer should have been summoned as well as the lad.
The case was adjourned for a week.
