A Family Party

Gunner Charles Stanley Vickers, R.A. (28), of 28, Winifred Road, Wath, will have completed two years’ service in India in September. He is the son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Charles Vickers, of Adwick Road, Mexborough. Gunner Vickers, a member of the Territorial Army, was called up in August, 1939.

He was formerly employed at Barnburgh Main Colliery. Gunner and Mrs. Vickers have four children, including 14 months’ old Charles Frank, whom Gunner Vickers has not yet seen. August 17th was the couple’s eighth wedding anniversary which Mrs. Vickers celebrated with a family party.

With Gunner Vickers in India is his uncle, Gunner Frank Mason, 9, Lower Dolcliffe Road, Mexborough, who is also married and has two daughters. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Mason, of 17, Wragby Row, Mexborough.
