Scholarship Award

A splendid achievement is that of John L Humphries, a student at Wath Grammar School, who has won a scholarship in electrical engineering at Loughborough College.

This scholarship is up to youth of 16 or over throughout the British Empire, three being awarded to people from the Dominion and two to people from this country.

John Humphries is only 16, and this was his first attempt.

He is the only son of Sgt J Humphries, of Wath division of the West Riding Constabulary.

The scholarship covers a four years course in  electrical engineering at Loughborough College, starting September 24.
