New Sergeant.
Sgt. George Walker. of the West Riding Police arrived at Wath police station last Thursday to charge of the section.
Sgt. Walker joined the Force at Wakefield, in December 1932, and after three months training was transferred to Knaresborough. Three years later he was transferred from Knaresborough to Walshford Bridge (Harrogate Division) remaining there seven years.
Sgt. Walker was promoted Sgt. in July, 1945, at Wetherby. Before going to Wetherby he was at Ripon for 12 months.
He is a native of Blackhall County Durham, is married and has two children, and is living in High Street, West Melton
