Casting vote decides chairmanship.
Coun. I. Bramham is Wath Urban Council’s new Chairman. At a stormy annual meeting on Monday, lasting almost 2 hours, he was elected on the casting vote of the retiring chairman, Coun. F. L. Beevers, after there had been equal voting for his election, and a proposal that the retiring chairman continue for a further period.
Reference to a letter alleged to have been written “behind the councils back” to the Minister of health was made during discussion on the appointment of a subcommittee to replace that which was appointed on the March 16th at a special meeting of the Council in connection with their auditors report, but which has since resigned. The council have now appointed to committees – One of investigation, and one designed for reorganisation of departments.
