The Gawtress Homes.

These two model almshouses, erected In Cemetery Road, Wath-on-Dearne, under the terms of the trust set up by the will of the late Mr. W. H. Gawtress, of Wath, are practically ready for occupation. They are beautifully designed, exceptionally well built, and in all respects ideal dwellings of their type.

Each house consists of a living room with bed chamber, scullery, bathroom, lavatory and coal shed, all under cover and the spacious portico fitted with an oak seat becomes a summer house. There is also a garden for each house. The trust formed for the erection of the homes has to be replaced by a trust for their maintenance, and when this has been done the trustees will invite applications for tenancies of the almshouses, and it is hoped that the first tenants will be in before Christmas.
