Military Medal At Wath Council.

At the monthly meeting of the Wath-on-Deam« Urban Council, the Chairman (Mr. J. Hinch cliff) decorated Signaller H. Butcher, R.H.A., Watb soldier, with the Military Medal, awarded him for gallantry at St. Quentin, last June.

It was reported that the War Office had allotted a German field gun, captured the Hailamshire Rifles, to Wath-on-Dearne, in recogniion of the patriotic services of that town.

It was decided to ask the Deame Valley Joint Light Railways Committee to consider the question diverting the route of the proposed light railway system, to carry it through West Street, Watn, and also through the site of the Council’s new housing scheme between Wath and Swinton.
