Private Pyott, whose home is at 20, Ellen Road, Wath upon Dearne, was wounded in the face and shoulder on August 31.

Before joining the Army Private Pyott worked at Manvers Main Colliery.

He enlisted in March 5, 1915, went out to France on July 20 of the same year. He has been through some terrible battles.

He received a slight bayonet wound in his left hand in the “big push” of July 1, 1916, and is now in hospital in France suffered from wounds caused by a shell in his nose and shoulder, also several other places.

He has a wife and three children.
