Few South Yorkshire societies can have a lively programme – stage all social – that than Wath’s vigorous Theatre Club, This society, begun Just before the war, can now boast a membership of nearly 200, and enthusiasm is such that no less than 99 members and friends joined in bus parties to Sheffield Playhouse last night for the Repertory Company’s production of the delicious A. A. Milne play, “Toad of Toad Hall.”

To-night (Friday) the club are holding their New Year’s party, which has become an outstanding social feature of the club’s life. Following this relaxation the club will get down to hard work once again, with a meeting of the play ‘selection committee in the clubroom next Tuesday and a play reading on February 1st. The next play, Shaw’s “The Devil’s Disciple; is to be given on February 23rd, 24th and 25th,

Producer will be Miss Ann Harding, of Wath Grammar School, a member of the staff of Wath Grammar School, the headmaster of which, Mr. J. Ritchie, (picture) is the club’s president
