A Date with Safety

October 31st to November 5th will be “Home Safety Week” in Wath, and many activities are being arranged by the local Home Safety Committee to underline the importance of safety In the home. A poster competition is open to children and adults, with upwards of £10 in prizes, and there will be a Home Safety Quiz for schoolchildren, exhibitions, lectures and film shows.

Entries for the poster competition should be sent in by October 24th, under three Categories-8- 10 years, 11-14 years and over 15 years. The quiz will he held on November 1st at Strathmore House.

The fire service will give a film show and talks in local schools and a “Brains Trust” evening will be held on November 3rd, when prizes will be distributed to winners of the poster competition.
