Army and Air Force

Before joining the Royal Air Force in May this year, A/C H. Bentham, third son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Bentham, Hope Avenue, Goldthorpe, was a footman to the Earl and Countess of Dartmouth.

He attended Highgate Council School and later worked at Manvers and Barnburgh Main Collieries. He has since travelled a great deal, but is at present stationed in this country.

Cpl Raymond Bentham joined the Royal Engineers in January, 1938. He was employed at Manvers Main Colliery before enlisting. Serving, “somewhere in England.” he wishes to be remembered to old workmates.
