Young Composer

Sergeant Pilot Edgar Cree, R.A.F., is still making great strides in the musical world and on Sunday evening conducted the Palestine Broadcasting Orchestra in a symphony concert.

Sergt. Cree has gained fame as the composer of ultra-modern compositions. At the age of 17 he was appointed assistant organist at Peterborough Cathedral and also conducted for the B.B.C. at Queen’s Hall and the Royal College of Music.

At a concert given by the North East Regional Orchestra, at which the famous pianist, Moiseiwitsch appeared, Sergt. Cree and Edward Clark were the joint conductors and £900 was raised for the R.A.F. Benevolent Fund.
