Missing
A well-known Wath man, Sgt. Bomb-Aimer, Frank Peploe, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Peploe, Burlington House, High Street, Wath, has been reported missing from operational duties.
He was 22 on Monday. Sgt. Peploe is an old boy of Wath Grammar School and was previously employed in the wages department at Manvers Main Colliery offices.
He is a member of St. James’s Church and Wath Mechanics Institute. A keen indoor games player, he has won a number of cups for billiards, snooker and table tennis.
