Three bands led the street processions, viz., the Wombwell Subscription Band, the Wath Brass Band, and the and Bolton United Brass Band. Fully 2,000 people assembled at the grounds, and the proceedings were conducted from the terrace.

Speeches upon the value of the hospital movement were delivered, and the hope was expressed that the collections would be increased. During the afternoon a full band and chorus of 100 performers, ably conducted by Mr. A. Hoyland rendered the following selections from Handel’s “Messiah;”—“And the glory of the Lord,” “All like sheep,” “Worthy is the Lamb,” and “Hallelujah.” They also assisted the singing of hymns.

It Is expected that the collections will be nearly £40. The money is divided between the Mexborough and Sheffield Hospitals.
