Betting House.

Fanny Barton (52), housewife, of 58, Church Street. West Melton, was fined £5 at Rotherham West Riding Court on Monday for having on Aug. 1st used her home as a betting house.

Wm. T. Barton (55), her husband, a miner, of the same address, was fined £10 for having kept a betting house.

P.c. Goodman said he and two other police officers examined the house and found betting material and over £23 in cash.

Wm. T. Barton said to them, “It’s all right: I have been through the mill before.”
