Bond Broken
A West Melton Case.
Waiter Lawton, of Firth Road, West Melton appeared at Rotherham West Riding Court, on Monday, for having committed a breach of recognizance, and pleaded “guilty.”
It was stated that Lawton had been bound over in the sum of £10 for a year, at Rotherham for having been drunk and disorderly three times, on July 2nd, 1928, but had been drunk and disorderly again on April 15th 1929, and thereby forfeited his recognisance.
Defendant had 42 previous convictions, most of them for having been drunk and disorderly.
In ordering defendant to pay £3, with the alternative of one month’s imprisonment, the presiding magistrate (Mr. J. S. Colton-Fox said they were taking in to consideration the fact that the defendant had not been, drunk for nine months.
