After hearing the pancake bell tolling at Brampton Ellis Jr School this year, memories of his schooldays came back to Mr Fred Rothery, of Park Road, Wath, and this week he went to the School again with an old photograph of a class of 1897 in which he was a pupil.

Mr Rothery is on the photograph and many people will remember and recognise the late Mr Sam Lancashire, one of the staff.
