Wath Athletic (152) beat Brodsworth 116 at Brodsworth in Saturday’s Council fixture.
Wath opened steadily, C. Heaton and J. Breislin (19) put on 42 for first wicket, but although Heaton batted steadily to reach his 50, Wath lost 6 wickets for 96. K. Phillips 35 (1 six, 4 fours) and V. Salkeld (1 six, 3 fours) added 48 for the 7th wicket. W. Bolton (4 for 69) and W. McDonald (3 for 12) had best bowling figures for Brodsworth.
Brodsworth opened well. S Kerry (36) and W. Wilson (30) being chiefly responsible for 100 on board for the loss of 3 wickets. Tommy Hargreaves then began his second spell of bowling, and in 3 overs and 3 balls took 6 wickets for 7 runs (final analysis 7 for 39).
