Coal Board Appointment
Brampton To Wales
As a mark of appreciation on his leaving the district to take up appointment as Assistant Divisional Supplies Superintendent for the South Western Division under the N.C.B. Arthur Clegg George of 21 Manor Road, West Melton, was honoured as their special guest by committee of Cortonwood Social Club at a gathering on Saturday.
On behalf of the company Mr. John Hunter, under-manager at Cortonwood Colliery, congratulated Mr. Clegg on his appointment and said that though they were sorry to lose him they were delighted to learn of his well-earned preferment.
Mr. Clegg said he was sorry for many reasons to leave a district to which in a lifetime he had he become so deeply attached, but he could assure them it was not a complete severence.
During the evening Mr. Hunter made a presentation to Mr. Clegg on behalf of the club members and friends
