Celebrating their Diamond Wedding anniversary today (Friday) are Mr. and Mrs. S. Smith, of Albert Road, West Melton.

They have lived in West Melton all their life, and. Mrs. Smith was born in the house in which they are now living.

Mr. Sam Smith, (80), worked at Wath Colliery until his retirement and in his spare time he has been a keen fisherman. He and his wife, Jessie, (79), were married at Brampton Parish Church.

They have eight children, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
