Drowning Fatality at Wath

A child named Hunter, son of Mr Hunter, Gore Hill, an official employed at Manvers Main colliery, met with an untimely end on Wednesday afternoon.

It is supposed that whilst playing on the canal bank, at Gore Hill Bridge, he slipped or rolled into the water and was drowned.

The body had been in the canal some little time before it was recovered
