Fine Week End for Skating Enthusiasts

January 1928

Sheffield Independent – Monday 02 January 1928

In Dearne Valley

It has been fine week end for skating enthusiasts in the Dearne Valley.

There are large tracts of ice in low-lying meadows between Wombwell and Darfield and another six or seven acres on what is known the “Navvy Hole” on the Wath side of Wombwell.

Efforts to keep the Canals open have failed and skaters may now use the waterway between Wombwell and Wath.
