The four eldest sons work at Cortonwood Colliery, George being a deputy, Harry a borer, Arthur on the haulage, and Joe a cutter. Bernard is employed in the joiner’s shop at Manvers Main.

Three of them are married, George lives at Fitzwilliam Avenue, Wath, Harry in Boswell Road, Sandygate, Wath, and Joe at 46, Hollowgate, Wath. All five were born at Wath.
