For The Cape

Mrs. Audrey Walton, formerly Miss Audrey Baker, elder daughter of Coun P R. Baker, J.P., Chairman of Wath Urban Council, and of Mrs Baker, 81. Burman Road, Wath-on-Dearne.sailed from Southampton in the “Winchester Castle” on Tuesday for South Africa, where she is to rejoin her husband Mr. Walton, only son of Mr. and Mrs H R. Walton, 3, Vicar Road, Wath-on-Dearne, sailed for South Africa  last May, three weeks after their marriage

A F/Sgt navigator with the Royal Air Force during the war, Mr. Walton completed his training in South Africa. He has joined a building firm in King Williamstown, near East London and has found South Africa a very pleasant country and its people most hospitable.

Mrs Walton will dock at Cape Town and will complete the remaining two and a half days’ journey by rail.

Her parents travelled to London with her on Monday and saw her off from Southampton on Tuesday.
