Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Monday 18 April 1927
A goal scored minute from the start gave Frickley a victory over Wath, at South Elmsall.
The goal was scored by Clayton. Wath pressed strongly after this reverse, and the Frickley defence had a busy time. Bromage, however, was capital form.
Frickley had the better of the play on resuming, and Whittaker saved twice in succession from Jepson, who shot hard from the wing.
