Manager is the New President

Believed to be the first manager of licensed premises to have become president of the Mexborough, Swinton and District Licensed Victuallers Associations, Mr. Denis Middleton, was elected at the annual meeting held at the Sportsman Inn, Swinton.

Mr. Middleton has been manager at the Plant Hotel, Mexborough, for five years and has been senior vice-president of the L.V.A. for the past three years.

Other officials elected were: senior vice-president, Mr. J. P. Jones, Monkwood Hotel, Rawmarsh; junior vice-president, Mr. A. Lawrence, Collingwood Hotel, Bolton; secretary, Mr. B.
