Manvers Pit Fatality

Samuel Fletcher Lyons (40) coal face worker, of 81, Charles Street, Swinton, was killed by a fall of stone in the Parkgate Seam at Manvers Main colliery yesterday morning.

Lyons, a married man with two children, was dead when workmates recovered him from the fall.

The circumstances are being reported to the Sheffield District Coroner.
