Miner Killed After Warning Shout.

John Arthur Beckett, of Doncaster Road. Mexborough, a young miner, told a Coroner Jury  yesterday that while working with Frederick George Everett (26). of Wath-on Dearne, in Manvers Main Colliery, on Saturday, they heard a sudden bump in the roof.

Both shouted warnings, and Beckett jumped clear, but turned round to find that Everett had been buried under a large fan of small coal.

Medical evidence showed that Everett sustained no serious injury, but was suffocated.

A verdict of Accidental death” was returned.
