New N.C.B. Appointment

Mr Albert Fairhurst (53), of “Windygarth,” 53, Sandygate, Wath, will take up duties as Project Engineer with the No. 1 Area of the West Midlands Division of the National Coal Board at Newcastle under -Lyne on Monday.

Mr Fairhurst started his working life at Wath Main Colliery as an apprentice engineer and was appointed mechanical engineer in 1945. Since 1952 he has been mechanical engineer at the Manvers Central Coal Preparation Plant at Wath. He has been an active member of the Wath “Twelfth Night” Committee.

Mr. Fairhurst is married and has one son. The family is shortly to take up residence at “Hillbree,” Milehouse Lane Woolstanton, near Newcaste Staffs
