Plucky Wath Girl

At the monthly meeting of the Wath-on-Dearne Urban Council, it was decided to draw the attention of the Royal Humane Society to the gallant conduct of Lizzie Wilson, aged 14, of 59, Avenue Road. The girl jumped into the water, and with difficulty brought the boy to the side. The circumstances were reported to the Council by the parents of the boy, who expressed gratitude to the girl.
