Rawmarsh Checkmated After Declaring

An interesting match and some lively cricket resulted between the meeting of Rawmarsh and Wath on Saturday. 11 wickets produce 440 runs.

Rawmarsh declared at 219 for 7, left Wath just two hours in which to knock that total off. Much to their surprise, Wath managed to do so for the loss of only four wickets and with five minutes to spare.

Tommy Hakin batted well for Rawmarsh, no easy chances been offered while he compounded 73. None of the other Rawmarsh batsmen reached half that total.

Senior soon settled down against the Rawmarsh bowling and scored briskly. The other batsmen were satisfied to let him do the scoring as they kept their end up. It paid – and Wath gained their third successive victory.
