Recruiting At Wath on Dearne
Strongest Battery in the Brigade
Reference to the simply splendid recruiting performance of the 188th Battery (Wath-on-Dearne) of the 67th York and Lancaster A.A. Brigade was made by Colonel J, M. Fisher at the first annual dinner of the Battery, attended by 198 officers and men in Wath-on-Dearne Drill Hall to-day.
It was the strongest battery in the Brigade, he said, and thanked the managements of firms in the district who had made the recruiting advance possible.
Major P. H. Lloyd said they were only one short of being 10 per cent, over strength. Then they would seek permission to become 20 per cent, over strength, which was their ambition.
Major Lloyd and Colonel Fisher paid tributes to the high efficiency of the permanent staff.
