Reported Missing
West Melton Haulage Hand

Though relatives have been communicated with no news has so far been received of the whereabouts of Mr. John Thomas Cross (seen here with his wife) of 3, Stokewell Road, West Melton, who has not been seen since Sunday.

Cross, aged 30. is employed as a haulage hand at Cortonwood Colliery. On Sunday, Mrs. Cross prepared her husband’s morning meal as usual. He got up, apparently about his usual time but took neither food nor his cycle and did not arrive at work. Cross who is stated to have been in good health and spirits, is described as a man of cheerful disposition and devoted to his wife and three-year-old boy.

He stands about 5ft. 6ins. and has light brown hair and fresh complexion. He was believed to be wearing a fawn jacket and trousers, brown boots and a navy blue sports shirt.
