This is what Guardsman Roland Atkinson thinks of his regiment, the Grenadier Guards. He has been in the Army a year and previously worked underground at Manvers Main Colliery.

A native of Upper Haugh, his home in now at 4, Adwick Sidings, Wath. Guardsman Atkinson is married and has five children, all boys.
