One of General Montgomery’s Eighth Army soldiers on leave in Wath is L/Cpl. Richard Arthur Gill, R.A.S.C., son of Mr and Mrs. H. Gill of 2, Oak Avenue, Wath, who will celebrate his 23rd birthday next week.  He has been abroad nearly 2½ years.  L/Cpl. Gill will have been in the Forces six years in June.

Another of Mr. and Mrs Gill’s sons, Samuel, who is married and whose home is at 33, Cemetery Road, Wath, is a prisoner of war in Germany.

Also on leave this week is their sister, L.A./c.w. Florence Gill (19) who is a cook in the W.A.A.F. She joined up two years ago.
