Prisoner of War.
Pte Wm. Arthur Green (21), only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Green. 121, Avenue Road. Wath, who was serving in the Middle East with the Green Howards, was reported missing on June 4th.
His mother has this week received a prisoner of war postcard, stating that he has not been wounded, but is a prisoner in Italian hands.
Pte. Green volunteered when he was 17, and after serving in France from the early part of the war, was in the evacuation of Dunkirk.
After Dunkirk he was stationed in England until he was drafted to the Middle East early this year.
His father served throughout the last war in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, holding the rank of Petty Officer.
