Prisoner Of War

As yet, very little news has been received of Pte. E. Heaton, who is a prisoner of war in Japanese hands.

A former porter on the L.M.S. railway, Pte. Heaton was taken prisoner while serving with the R.A.M.C. in Malaya.

His wife lives with her parents at Thornleigh, High Street, Wath.

Her brother Tpr. T. Smith, elder son of Mrs. Robinson of Thornleigh, and the late Mr. Smith, who was killed in the last war, has been  serving in India for the last three years.  He is married, and prior to joining the Forces was employed by Messrs. Newton Chambers and Co. Ltd.
