George Heppenstall son of Mr. and Mrs. Heppenstall, Smith’s Buildings, ,West Melton, who was reported missing between the 11th and 15th of April. 1918, now presumed to have been killed, or died, on that date.

He enlisted on September 2, 1914, and went to France in 1915.

For gallantry in the field he gained the M.M. in the beginning of July, 1916.

Previous to the war he was employed at the Manvers Main Colliery.
