Killed In Action
Mrs. J. T. Humphreys of 5, Common Lane, Wath, received official intimation on Saturday that her youngest son, Pte. Peter Cyril Humphreys (21), was killed in action on September 3rd, while serving in North-West Europe.
He had been in the Forces for only seven months, and went to France soon after D-Day.
Pte. Humphreys was a former pupil of Wath Victoria and Park Road Schools, and before entering the Forces was employed by Waterstone Glassware Ltd. of Wath.
Mrs. Humphreys has three other sons serving in France.
