Gunner A. Kelly
Royal Field Artilliery
Gunner Kelly, elder son of Mrs and the late Mr. H Kelly, of the Green, West Melton, has been recommended for distinction.
He has carried messages nightly from group headquarters to battery positions through heavy shellfire and gas, and over very difficult country, and he never once failed to get through.
He has just recovered from the effects of gas poisoning.
Before enlistment, in June, 1915, he was employed at the Cortonwood Collieries.
